Collins Khaemba Wafula is a Kenyan environmentalist, climate activist, and clean energy advocate. He is a graduate of Maseno University in Kenya where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Geography and Natural Resources Management with IT. He also holds a certificate in Nuclear Energy (Science, Systems, Society) from edX courses offered by MIT online. He is currently working with local organizations and non-profits to provide sociopolitical and sustainable solutions to communities in Western Kenya.
Since 2018, he has been actively involved in Nuclear Energy advocacy with the organization Nuclear Energy is the Better (NUeB), now known as the Climate Action Bungoma Community Based Organization. He has also participated in the Berlin Brandenburg protest against Germany’s decision to shut down remaining Nuclear Power Plants and attended the climate debate at COP27 in Egypt under Nuclear4Climate. He is passionate about promoting a well-informed Kenya as it moves towards clean electricity generation using both Nuclear Power and other Renewables.
